High Tide

High Tide Weapon (Trident), Very Rare (Requires Attunement) This trident has 10 charges. While wielding it, you can use a bonus action to double the length of the original size of the weapon, granting it the reach property. The trident regains 1d10 expended charges daily at dawn. When this weapon is used under moonlight it becomes a +1 magical weapon.

Created by The Bitch Queen Umberlee to aid her chief waveservants, this trident has slew countless nonbelievers and acted as a focus for prayer during religious ceremonies. While the moonlight shines on this weapon, it generates an eerie glow and swings and stabs made with it produce sounds of the tide rising and falling.

The inspiration for this weapon comes from the magical staves used by characters like Son Wukong and Goku. Considering the lack of weapons with the reach ability in D&D, I figured that this weapon could add some needed variety. The lore for the weapon comes directly from the Dungeons and Dragons pantheon. Featured prominently in The Reaver by Richard Lee Byers, Umberlee and her servants, who's ruthlessness knew no bounds, formed a great backdrop for the story of such a deadly weapon.
