Peridot Pangolin

Wondrous Item, Rare This peridot statuette resembles a pangolin. As a reaction you can turn the figure into a Large pangolin which clutches and shields you while it contorts into an armored ball. The pangolin has an AC of 26, HP of 200 and lasts until the beginning of your next turn. Once it has been used, it can’t be used again until 2 days have passed.

The peridot pangolin resided in a temple hidden in the jungles of Chult, protecting the fauna and indigenous tribes from harm. A Yuan-Ti raiding party disturbed the peaceful protection of the temple, razing the surrounding settlements and desecrating the sacred ground. In the chaos, the peridot idol found within the temple was taken by the raiders never to be returned. Since then, the efforts of virtuous adventurers have thwarted the villainous reptilians and scattered their treasure hoards across the realm. One lucky enough to find this figurine will be blessed with incredible protection.

Super short update today because I'm late to go play some actual D&D! Inspired by the bubble shield from Halo 3, the Peridot Pangolin was a fun experiment in creating a reactionary figurine of wondrous power.
