Weapon (Shortsword), Very Rare (Requires attunement) This sword has 6 charges. As a bonus action you can speak the sword’s command word to convert HP from your current hit point pool into additional points to be added to your attack bonus. Refer to the table when deciding the conversion. The addition to your attack bonus is not permanent and reverts to normal at the beginning of your next turn. Health points converted in this way are not regained.

-3 HP +1 to ATK Bonus -6 HP +2 to ATK Bonus -9 HP +3 to ATK Bonus

Once wielded by the terrifying orc Batul, this sword nearly led to the destruction of Yasterall, the capital city of Eldrin. The sword allowed Batul to draw from her supernatural constitution and channel it into deadly force. It was thanks to this ability that she was able to lead her tribe of orc warriors in an all-out assault on the city. The attack lasted for three days and hundreds of victims were slew before Batul fought her last battle. During her final push within the city, the orc warrior faced 1,000 armed guards with nothing more than the Sword of Siphoning at her disposal. As wave after wave of attacks berated her, she continued to cut her enemies to ribbons until suddenly she collapsed. Though the sword aided Batul in her many battles, its thirst grew to a point that she could no longer sustain. The sword now waits for a new wielder, worthy of its power.

It's Free RPG Day! Celebrate with me by indulging in one of my favorite magical items yet. The sword of siphoning is one of the many ideas I've had that adhere to the risk-reward category. I always find it interesting to see the length to which players will go to get an edge on the battlefield. The lore for this item actually ended up being way too long for this post, so I'm hoping to explore it more in detail at a later time.

Thank you so much for stopping by to check out the Month of Magic!
