The Smelter's Thermos

Wondrous Item, Rare This enchanted thermos can contain 12 fl. oz. of super-heated material (lava, slag, etc.). The materials inside retain their heat while the outer-walls stay cool to the touch. As an action you can fling the contents of the container as a ranged attack (10 feet) to deal 1d10 fire damage.

The master dwarven smith Darrak was never seen without his trusty thermos. Forged and enchanted deep within his mountain home, Darrak used this container to bring the molten lava found there, a crucial element of his unique smithing process, with him whenever he ventured out into the world. This way he could craft weapons and armor of the highest quality wherever he found himself. Sometimes he even used it to carry his grandmother’s famous 1000-degree stew!

Big shout out to my friend Ivan for the idea behind this item! The ability to carry material like lava without any repercussions immediately sparked my imagination. Would the player use it to melt down a door blocking their path? Perhaps they may want to join together two metal substances? Even using it as a weapon is a viable option. As for the lore behind it, Darrak is a character I had thought up whilst creating another magical item (one you will surely see soon), and he seemed like the perfect candidate to have forged this wondrous thermos.
