Mortals who curry true favor with the Verdant Queen are given ancient and secret alchemic recipes that create potions and salves baffling to current medicine. Potions of this caliber are those sought out by heroes of ancient tales and often the only solution to deadly diseases and curses. Those who have done the Queen a great deed are sometimes allowed to dictate the creation and properties of an entirely new herb or plant. Though these new plants are to grow only in the Fayrcose Woods, their bounty and effects can be manifested in the outside world. The possibilities are unknowable.
It is her position of responsibility in the natural order of the Fayrcose Woods to regulate the growth of new and existing plant life and combat the destructive efforts of her counterpart, the hag Dirty Birdy whose overabundant harvesting of the Wood's resources is causing it fatal harm.
The Verdant Queen can take many forms: a graceful fawn that seems to leap impossibly to and fro in the dense shrubbery, a particularly circumspect Gateway-oak keeping an eye on its neck of the woods, or even the very earth, the environment itself when she deems it truly necessary.
The visage most often encountered by mortals lucky enough to tell the tale is that of a dryad. Her bark laden body is enshrouded by vibrant leaves representative of the forests many seasonal changes. Small woodland birds and creatures dart about her, hiding in her abundant mane.
The Queen does not normally entertain discussion with mortal beings who live outside of her court, but on occasion she is known to parlay. Her demeanor is pleasant and her words are accompanied by the sounds of a breeze rustling through branches full of spring leaves. When in a benevolent and giving mood, the mere presence of the Verdant Queen is enough to insight memories of youthful days outside under a radiantly warm sun. Be warned of the Queen's wrath. Its best to indulge her whims and fancies, lest her mood darken like the sky before a storm and her biting words be the preceding cries of nature's wrath incarnate.
Though the power she holds over the realm is great, she is a force of good (albeit chaotic) and is satisfied in watching her verdure grow and thrive. Many of the plants wholly unique to the Fayrcose Woods are her direct creations and she is maternally defensive of them, almost to a fault.
